Elo-ranking

Tournament mode: 40 moves for 20 minutes + 20 moves for 10 minutes + 5 minutes for the remainder of the game.

We are using a opening book which is available for download below . The data base consists of 100 openings (inclusive the Nunn library I and II) and takes the ECO keys off A00 to E99. Per tournament 200 games were played 100 for white and black each. A game will take maximum 1hr. 10 min and therefore a tournament will last 10 days. Pondering is not supported, since it does not make a sense when using one computer.

The file turnier.pgn comes with the installation of Pirat and can be found under the subdirectory biblio.

The column + and – define the ELO-range with respect to the ELO-number. For example in case of Fauce0.41c the best-case ELO-number of the engine is 1925+36 and the worst-case ELO-number 1925-37. The more games a engine plays the more accurate the ELO-number.

At the moment our focus is the Pirat-engine, i.e. Pirat is playing against UCI-Engines or Winboard-Engines under the PiratGUI.
